Travel

Car - £54
If you're using a satnav or an internet routeplanner, use the destination postcode N5 1BU.

The journey will take about three-and-a-half hours each way and is 206 miles each way. Petrol is £27 each way, with an extra £4 each thrown in for the M6 Toll road if you so choose to take that route.

The basic route is M6 → M4 → M1 → A1 → A503.

Parking - £1
There is no official parking at the stadium itself, and Arsenal “strongly advise” people not to try to park near the ground because: “the ground is situated in a mainly residential area with an extensive Event Day Parking Scheme in operation”

It really is a struggle to find a street within a mile and a half that is not restricted with parking.

A far better solution is to park at Walthamstow Central tube station, which has a car park with 270 spaces. It costs £1 per car all day.

From there, you can get the Victoria Line five stops south and get off at Highbury and Islington station for the stadium. You will need a one-day tube pass covering zones 1-4, which costs £6.30.

Train £45.60
The most basic route is Manchester Piccadilly to London Euston and then a transfer onto the Tube's Victoria Line north to Highbury and Islington (pictured right).

We recommend buying your Tube and train tickets separately.

If you book on the day, you'll pay £66.20 for a return from Manchester to London.

If you book in advance via National Rail, you will save £26.20.

Leave Piccadilly at 10:20 on the way there for £29 one way and leave Euston at 21:50 on the way back for £11 one way.

Piccadilly to Euston
Direct trains leave at 08:05, 08:20, 09:20, 10:20, 10:35, 11:15, 11:35, 11:55, 12:15, 12:33, 12:55. Don't leave it any later than that. The journey takes about two hours and 15 minutes.

Euston to Highbury and Islington
London Tube says the Victoria Line will be running as normal.

Take the Victoria Line northbound two stops. It takes five minutes and services run every five minutes or better throughout the day.

At Euston (pictured left) get a one-day pass covering zones 1 and 2 for £5.60.

Highbury and Islington to Euston

The stadium has a structured waiting system at the surrounding Tube stations after the game, so you can hope to be on a Tube service by 18:30 and back at Euston by 18:40, providing it is a normal service on the Victoria Line.

Euston to Piccadilly
Direct trains leave at: 18:35, 19:55, 19:15, 19:35, 19:55, 20:15, 20:35, 21:24 and 21:50. The journey takes about two hours and 15 minutes.

British Airways is operating flights from Manchester to Gatwick leaving at 06:40, 09:00 and 12:20 all taking an hour and all costing £39.60 one way.

From Gatwick, you need to head to Highbury and Islington Tube station, which is a five-minute walk to the ground. A return ticket will cost you £18. A one-way ticket will cost you £15.

Trains leave the airport every five-to-ten minutes and the whole journey takes 68 minutes one way.

Get off the train at Victoria and then transfer to the Tube. Take the Victoria Line north.
