AC Milan watch: Stalemate in the San Siro

16 days to go

AC Milan 1-1 Livorno

AC Milan missed the chance to close the gap on Serie A leaders Inter Milan to six points as they were held to a draw by Livorno.

Massimo Ambrosini opened the scoring in the final minute of the first half but Livorno levelled matters eight minutes after the break thanks to Cristiano Lucarelli.

The result sees Milan move to eight points behind Inter, whose match at Parma was postponed due to snow, and although they remain second, they have now been caught by Roma who are level on points with the Rossoneri following victory over Siena.

Livorno remain two points above the drop zone.

Klaas Jan-Huntelaar was making a rare appearance for Milan, having come on as a half-time substitute for Marco Borriello.

Ronaldinho had a great chance to snatch all three points for his team deep into stoppage time. The Brazilian broke into the box but fired his shot straight at Benussi and Livorno return to Tuscany with a deserved point.
