THERE may be no Cristiano Ronaldo or Wayne Rooney on Show, but flying-high AFC Fylde have revealed their joy at securing a friendly match with a Manchester United XI.
As previously announced, the game will take place on Friday July 17, with a 19:45 kick off at the club's 1,800-capacity Kellamergh Park ground in Warton.
Ticket information will be released on June 15, when a full travel guide will be published on this blog.
AFC Fylde proved themselves to be a force to be reckoned last season when they won the Vodkat League Premier Division championship.
They rounded things off in style with a 5-0 demolition of New Mills before a crowd of 1,217 and they are currently on a 21-game winning streak.
This season, they will compete in the Unibond League division one - one division below FC United of Manchester.
The club's business development manager and acting secretary, Martin Booker, said: "We are absolutely delighted to be welcoming United to AFC Fylde."
"Of course, we know the first team will be touring Asia at the time of the match, so we are fully aware it will be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team that comes to play us - but it is still a very good side and it is a massive game for us."
He added: "We have just laid a new pitch and United will be the first team to play on it.
"We intend to put up two marquees for fans and hope they enjoy a really good night."
"We hope as many United fans as possible make the journey up and we are definitely hoping for a sell-out crowd."
